The Club is closely associated with the Old Dominion Retriever Club who meet regularly to hone their handling skills and improve their dogs' retrieving and hunting abilities. They also run their dogs in AKC, HRC and NAHRA hunt tests.

The ODRC trains at WatersEdge Labradors Training Grounds at Beanes Corner, near Heathsville, which covers nearly 20 acres including 5 acres of ponds.
