PET EDUCATION
The Pet Education Program represents perhaps the greatest and most valuable service that the Club renders to the general public in our community. The committee works closely with the the AKC's Pet Education Committee in the dissemination of materials that promote responsible dog ownership to both youth and adults living in the Northern Neck.
The committee oversees the annual certification of Canine Good Citizens (CGC) and Therapy Dogs (TD) and arranges for programs at private and local schools, K - 8, County Library Summer Reading programs for children, after school programs for challenged youngsters, service clubs, women's clubs, 4H groups and nursing homes.
Children's Programs feature responsible pet ownership, safety around dogs, the best breed for you, cost of owning a dog, careers in dogs and local dog legislation.
To arrange for a program or visit to a nursing home, call 804 435 0737
